Welcome to the Creepy Orphan Society

This Group is all about creating Creepy Orphans in the form of an Art Doll, Mixed Media or an Art Journal.
Whether it be a head on a bottle, candlestick, air dry clay, polymer clay, skulls, wire armature, or using an old book, etc...this Group is all about having fun with each other, learning, growing, and creating amazing pieces in the forum of Creepy.

First Quarter Challenge-DARK SHADOWS

THE CREEPY ORPHAN SOCIETY IS ROCKING IN THE NEW YEAR...PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR THE LATE POST...THE Creepy Orphan Society's FIRST QUARTERLY CHALLENGE IS IN THE THEME OF
DARK SHADOWS
REMEMBER THESE?

I REMEMBER YEARS AND YEARS AGO, WATCHING THIS SERIES (THE REMAKE) ON FRIDAY NIGHTS. I wouldn't make any plans because I had to be home to watch this. Ben Cross was absolutely amazing in this series, and then they cancelled the show.
Now we are gearing up to see the gorgeous Johnny Depp and the amazing Tim Burton to put their magic onto the big screen.
So, won't join the Creepy Orphan Society and create a piece of art in the theme of DARK SHADOWS. I believe that I will be making an Art Doll.  However, things could change. That is the beauty of art and challenges...do whatever comes to you.
I hope you all join in on this Challenge and let's see what we all come with.
Enjoy and here are few pics of the dream team!

ENJOY

I hope you enjoy her...her name is Marti.  She has been living in the attic for many years and has developed a knowledge for reading people.  However, since she has been locked up in the attic, with little or no friends at all, she predicts the future for unseen events, and thus, she tells me...we are heading into some rough times....hmmmmmmm let's see what happens or if her readings are DEAD ON!
Cheers!

November/December Challenge-Creepy Orphan Tree

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Well, I know our next challenge isn't due until December 31, 2010...but since my schedule is going to be absolutely nuts, I wanted to make sure I got my challenge piece done. So...Here it is!

The Creepy Orphan Society-Challenge- Creepy Orphan Tree, The Keeper of SOULS by the CROW!

She is a Mixed Media Piece. I used an old cigar box and turn it into her tree. I used air dry clay for the molds of souls hanging on the tree. I sculpted the tree out of floral wire and attached it to the cigar box. The Keeper is made out of an old barbie doll body, floral tape, air dry clay and I hand stitched her Tibetan Lamb Hair into a wig.  Lots of mixed media techniques created the inside of the cigar box.
SHE IS THE KEEPER OF SOULS
Until Next Time...
Cheers!
